When and how can I book for the PDC Sugar Shack?

Harvest season: Reservation requests for harvest season will begin on April 1st at 10am.

Sugar season: Reservations for sugar season will begin on December 1st at 10am.

Do I have to pay for everyone at the time where I make the reservation?

No. Only a small, non-refundable fee of 1.50$+tx per person will be required by the representative upon taking a credit card in guarantee. The actual bill is paid after the meal, just like any other restaurant.

What are the dates for the Sugar and Harvest seasons, and which days and times are available throughout a season?

Though the exact dates can differ from season to season, the Sugar Season tends to be from mid-February to early May.

As for the Harvest Season, it is usually held from mid-August to the end of October.

The Cabane is open from Thursday to Sunday throughout a given season.

There are two services on Thursdays and Fridays; the first one is at 5:30/6:00PM, and the second one is at 8:00/8:30PM.

Weekends have the same services for the evening, as well as two lunch services at 11:00/11:30AM and 1:30/2:00PM. Do note that each service is 2:30 hours long, and that the menu is the same for lunch and dinner.

What is the minimum/maximum number of people I can book for?

The minimum number of people is 2. There is no maximum amount of people, but do note that the restaurant has a maximum capacity of 126 people. Per service, we have two tables of 15 people, one of 14, one of 10 and the rest are tables of 8 people.

How do I go about booking for a group during the season?

The procedure for groups is the same as for 2 people.

I would like to book a reservation outside of the 2 main seasons. How do I go about doing this?

To book outside of the Sugar and Harvest seasons, you must book for a group of at least 70 people. You can make your request to Laure Delpla, at laured@pieddecochon.ca

Can I bring my children? If so, what are the prices?

We offer a reduced price for children between 4 and 12.

The meal is free for children under the age of 4, and we can provide high chairs directly at the restaurant. Please include the amount of children under the age of 4 when you fill the form. They will not be included in the amount of people when you receive confirmation e-mails, but the Cabane will be notified and ready to accommodate on the night of your reservation.

General: Dining Room, Birthdays, etc.

We will be celebrating someone’s birthday. Do you offer a special service for that occasion?

You may decorate your table or bring candles if you wish to celebrate a birthday. Please note that the Cabane doesn’t offer a special service.

If someone in my group has an allergy or a special diet, can they still come?

The sugar shack's menu contains traditional dishes revisited with a unique twist. The menu was not made to accommodate people with severe allergies or specific diets.

However, if you still wish to come and experience the sugar shack’s menu, you must tell your allergy or specific diet to your waiter so that he can tell you what you can or cannot eat.

Will alcohol be available, or must I bring my own?

Alcoholic beverages are available at the Cabane. You will find a wine list as well at spirits and custom-made cocktails.

How is the dining room organized, and how big are the tables?

We offer large tables ranging from 8 to 15 people. The maximum number of people who can sit at the same table is fifteen. Smaller groups usually share a table with another group, with a maximum of two groups per table.

We also have a bar section, which is located in the main dining room. It is meant for groups of 2 to 4 people and offers the same menu and amount of food. We usually recommend the bar for groups of 2 or 3, as it is more comfortable that being at the end of a table. Our guests at the bar also benefit from individual chairs with backrests, rather than long benches. The bar section has a total of 8 seats.

We also have VIP tables, for more information, please contact us laured@pieddecochon.ca

Someone in my group is using a wheelchair. Can you accommodate us?

There will not be a problem, as long as the wheelchair is of standard size. Usually, electric wheelchairs are too large to fit through the door, which is of a width of 31 inches. You are also required to let us know of the situation beforehand.

Where can I buy the Cabane’s products?

It’s possible to buy our products directly at the PDC Sugar Shack during our business hours (Thursdays and Fridays from 5:30PM to 10:00PM and weekends from 11:00AM to 10:00PM). You can also buy the products on our website during holiday season.

Once you get your reservation: Procedures, Cancellations, Changes, Confirmation

Are there any deadlines or fees for cancelling or changing my reservation?

You may cancel your reservation or change the date, time, or amount of people up to three weeks (21 days) before the date of said reservation. After that deadline, a penalty of 50% of the price of the meal, plus taxes, will be charged on the credit card per person missing.

If enough space is still available, we’ll be glad to add people to your reservation up to just a few days beforehand. Please note that a reservation fee of $1.50+tx per extra person will be charged on the credit card.

Do I have to bring a piece of ID/my reservation number/my credit card for my reservation?

We ask that you please bring the final confirmation e-mail to the Cabane on the night of your reservation. It may be printed out or simply shown on a smartphone or tablet.

Do I have to pay for my meal with the credit card that was given in guarantee?

That’s not necessary. You can pay cash, debit, or credit (Visa or Mastercard). The bills can be paid for individually or by groups.
